22 December 2016 at 2115 GMT the GEOS International Emergency Response Coordination Center (IERCC) received a 911/SOS alert from an InReach device in British Columbia, Canada.   IERCC personnel contacted local emergency services and informed them of the activation. SAR personnel responded to the location and assisted two males who got stuck in a ravine on their snowmobiles and were unable to continue. The individuals were assisted by a SAR ground team with getting their snowmobiles unstuck then escorted them to a secure location. No injuries were reported with this incident.
