21 February 2017 at 2333 GMT the GEOS International Emergency Response Coordination Center (IERCC) received a 911/SOS alert from an InReach device in the Grand Canyon National Park. IERCC personnel contacted local emergency services and informed them of the activation. Grand Canyon National Park personnel responded to the location and assisted a 34-year-old male sustaining a wrist and ankle injury caused by a fall. The individual was picked up by helicopter and transported to an ambulance which took him to the nearest hospital where his injuries were treated.
