26 February 2017 at 1926 GMT the GEOS International Emergency Response Coordination Center (IERCC) received a 911/SOS alert from an InReach device in British Columbia, Canada.   IERCC personnel contacted local emergency services and informed them of the activation. SAR personnel responded to the location and transported a 32-year-old female sustaining a knee injury while skiing. The individual was transported by helicopter to an ambulance that transported her to a local hospital where her injury was treated.
