11 April 2017 at 1050 GMT the GEOS International Emergency Response Coordination Center (IERCC) received a 911/SOS alert from an InReach device in the United Kingdom. IERCC personnel contacted local emergency services and informed them of the activation. SAR personnel responded to the location and transported a 23-year-old female suffering from symptoms of hypothermia and becoming stuck on a mountain while hiking due to a storm. The individual was met by a ground crew who escorted her to her vehicle. No injuries to report.
