15 April 2017 at 2329 GMT the GEOS International Emergency Response Coordination Center (IERCC) received a 911/SOS alert from an InReach device in British Columbia, Canada. IERCC personnel contacted local emergency services and informed them of the activation. SAR personnel responded to the location and transported a 25-year-old male sustaining a dislocated shoulder while out hiking with 3 other individuals. The individual was evacuated by helicopter to a waiting ambulance which transported him to the hospital where his injury was treated.
