16 April 2017 at 1952 GMT the GEOS International Emergency Response Coordination Center (IERCC) received a 911/SOS alert from an InReach device in British Columbia, Canada. IERCC personnel contacted local emergency services and informed them of the activation. SAR personnel responded to the location and transported a 30-year-old male sustaining a dislocated shoulder while riding his snowmobile. The individual was evacuated by helicopter then transported by ambulance to a medical clinic where his injury was treated.
